Discussion on: You Probably Don't Need a Mac

As a .NET Developer, I don't need a Mac, however, .NET applications can run on Mac via .NET Core product, but I don't like it, I prefer Windows 10, because:

  • Windows price not high
  • Minimum requirements are good, can run on nearly all machines
  • Easy, no command line experience needed for normal users. Regarding to developers, command-line support exist using Powershell and Command Prompt
  • All programming languages have editors and tools run on Windows (except iOS development which will need a real device to run on)
  • Great community support for hardware and software , You can do the maintenance on you own, and if you sent the computer to a maintenance center, the fixing cost is not high.
