I built a tiny side project last weekend to solve a very specific annoyance:
getting clean, high-resolution emoji images without paywalls, watermarks, or bloated tools.
Paste any emoji --> convert into a high-res PNG image ready to use for social media, thumbnails, web design, presentations..
Emojis are rendered in real time instead of scraped assets.
Currently indexed: 1,650+ emojis
Each emoji has its own page with:
Description, trivia, common use cases, related emojis.
I also added a random emoji discovery mode while testing — ended up keeping it because it’s weirdly fun.
Tech stack: Google AI studio (Gemini Pro Preview) ; Supabase ; Github ; Vercel.
This is just a side project for now, but I’m curious:
- Would this be useful in your workflow?
- Any obvious missing features?
- Better export formats you’d expect?
Happy to answer technical questions if anyone’s curious 🧁
