What if a tiny wiper-blade shop had a service rep that never sleeps? A customer messages their car model at two a.m.; the bot instantly looks up the blade size and quotes a price. Meet Wiper-Service-Agent: an open-source conversational AI agent for auto-parts customer service.
Small shops feel this pain daily. A customer asks for a price at midnight, nobody replies, and by morning they bought elsewhere. Night staff is too costly, answering everything yourself does not scale, and some customers write in Spanish or Russian. Every unanswered message is a lost order.
Four steps. First, the customer sends make, model and year, say Toyota Corolla 2021, and the language module detects Chinese, English, Spanish, Russian or Persian, replying in that language throughout. Second, wiper_db looks up the blade sizes. Third, pricing quotes and handles haggling: one discount only, five percent. Fourth, faq answers install, warranty and payment questions without breaking the sales flow. A state machine drives it all: greeting, collect vehicle, quote, done, ending with an order-intent J S O N.
I ran the real demo: four scenarios, standard order, missing-year follow-up, haggling, and a full Spanish customer, who went from hello to order entirely in Spanish while the bot logged the detected language. All forty-four tests pass.
Honest note: the demo runs on simulated data; the catalog, price table and N L U are mocked and marked SIMULATED. What is real: the state machine, tool interfaces, quoting math, language-detection rules, and the WhatsApp message boundary. To do: real fitment database, real price list, native-speaker review, L L M wiring. The webhook server is live on Render on the real WhatsApp Cloud A P I. M I T open source, link in the description. Sell auto parts? Fork it for your shop. See you next time!
S6: Take a breather. China has an old saying: 'sharpening the axe won't delay the woodcutting.' Good tools plus heartfelt service make a lasting business. May God, the Creator of heaven and earth, bless the work of your hands.
