I built my first Android app called NightLock — an open-source digital wellbeing app focused on Focus Mode, Bedtime Lock, and app usage control to reduce distractions and improve screen habits.
I originally made it for myself, family, and friends, and now I’ve open-sourced it.
I’d really appreciate:
feedback
testers
bug reports
suggestions
contributors
I’m also looking for help/advice regarding Play Store publishing.
I’m also currently looking for Android/software development opportunities, freelance work, or junior developer roles, so if you know of any openings or would like to collaborate, feel free to reach out.

Congrats on shipping! Screen time control is a real problem, especially at night when the habit of scrolling is hardest to break. Good idea to build it for yourself first.
On the Play Store publishing question - the thing that catches most solo devs out is the closed testing gate. Google requires 12 testers opted in for 14 consecutive days before it unlocks production access. Finding 12 people who keep your app installed for two weeks is harder than the docs suggest.
I'm in the same spot with my own app - Money Me, a personal finance planner (money-me.com). Happy to swap tests if you're at that stage. I install NightLock and keep it for the 14 days, you do the same for mine. Drop your opt-in link if you want to give it a go.
Thanks a lot for installing and testing NightLock — really appreciate it, especially since I’m building this solo.
And thanks for the heads-up about the Play Store closed testing requirement. I had heard about it, but didn’t realize keeping 12 testers for 14 consecutive days was the difficult part.
I’d definitely be open to a test swap when I reach that stage. I’ll check out Money Me as well. Once I prepare the Play Store closed testing setup and opt-in link, I’ll send it over here.
Appreciate the support!
