How I Built a Free Fire Nickname Generator That Only Shows In-Game-Tested Unicode Styles

Every "free fire name generator" on the internet has the same flaw: they generate names that the game rejects. I built one that doesn't — by testing every character inside the actual game client first.

The problem

Free Fire nicknames are limited to 12 characters, but the counting isn't what you'd expect:

  • Combining marks like ×͜× count as 3 characters each
  • Mathematical bold/italic letters (𝐀, 𝐴, 𝒜) look great on a webpage but get stripped by the game's input filter
  • The old invisible-name trick (Hangul filler U+3164) has been blocked since OB43

Most generators ignore all of this. Players copy a name, paste it, and get boxes or a rejection.

The approach: test in-game, not in a table

Unicode character tables lie about game clients. So on 15 October 2026, I ran a full pass: paste every candidate style and symbol into the actual Free Fire client, keep what renders exactly as typed, throw out the rest. Dozens of "popular" styles failed.

What survived:

  • Small caps (ᴀʙᴄ) — full A–Z coverage, counts 1:1
  • Bubble/circled (ⒶⒷⒸ) — counts 1:1
  • Fullwidth (ABC) — counts 1:1
  • Upside-down — counts 1:1
  • Framed styles — ꧁name꧂, ★彡name彡★, 乂name乂, ♛name♛, 『name』, ツnameツ — frames add 2–4 chars

The 12-character counter

The key feature: a live counter that counts the way the game counts — Unicode code points, not UTF-16 code units, and not "visible glyphs." If it says 12/12 or less, the name fits. No more wasted rename cards.

// count like the game does: code points, not UTF-16 units
const count = [...styledName].length;
const fits = count <= 12;
Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode

Try it

The tool is free, no signup, works on mobile:

100+ styles, every one in-game tested, plus a symbol crate and the current working invisible-name method.
