NyxJ is not just a parser: it is an architecture for silence and speed in a world saturated with data. As we approach the release of version 2.0, I want to share what the project delivers: a high-performance JSON engine and micro-service framework written in pure C11, targeting embedded systems, system tools, edge computing, and high-concurrency services.
The design is built around a single static library with no runtime dependencies, native builds for Linux, macOS, and Windows, and a WebAssembly build of the core. The parser is thread-safe and RFC 8259 compliant, with full escape and UTF-8 validation, SIMD scanning (SSE2 / NEON), and line and column information on every error. Security features include JSON DoS protection, the Guardian sanitizer, a Safe-Gate reverse proxy, and HTTPS/TLS.
Productivity tools include dot-path getters, a builder API, JSON-to-struct mapping, a C struct code generator, JSON Schema validation, and JSONPath queries. Performance features include a zero-copy token view, a constant-memory streaming (SAX) parser, an arena allocator, a worker thread pool, and MessagePack support. Data tools cover JSON Patch and Merge Patch diffing, heuristic repair of almost-JSON, and structural checksums.
The framework provides an Express-style router with :params, middleware, async handlers, OpenAPI and Swagger UI generation, and a native HTTP client. Operations features include Prometheus metrics, health and readiness probes with scale hints, heartbeat, Eco-Throttle, and structured logs. The platform layer includes an embedded key-value store with TTL and snapshots, plugins, Unix sockets and shared memory IPC, and gossip clustering. Reliability is addressed through shadow execution and triple modular redundancy with majority vote.
NyxJ 2.0 delivers the bulk of the original roadmap. The sources are released under the Fordima Public License (FPL) v1.0, free for individuals, education, and companies, including embedding in commercial products, with restrictions on building competing engines or offering paid hosted versions.
