I built a simple client-side online stopwatch: cronometro.cc

Uploading image
I needed a clean, no-frills stopwatch for timing workouts, speedcubing and small experiments. Most online timers are bloated with ads or require accounts, so I built my own simple browser-based version.

The name cronometro means stopwatch in Spanish.

Features

  • Millisecond precision timing
  • Unlimited lap / split time recording
  • Fullscreen display mode for big visible digits
  • Keyboard shortcut: space to start / pause
  • No registration, no ads, no tracking
  • Everything runs locally inside your browser
  • Works offline once the page finishes loading

No data gets sent to any server. All lap times stay on your device.

It’s useful for:

  • Gym & workout timing
  • Speedrunning / speedcubing
  • Cooking timers
  • Classroom or lab experiment timing
  • Any quick time measurement task

Try it out here: cronometro.cc

Tech note

This is pure frontend HTML / JS / CSS. No backend, no database. The browser handles all timing logic.

I’m planning small improvements in future updates. What feature should I add next? Lap export? Dark/light theme toggle? Multi timer?
