I recently had a PDF with a lot of empty space around the actual content. It wasn't a big problem on my laptop, but it was annoying to read on my phone.
So I wanted to trim the extra area around the pages.
It’s a little different from cropping an image. With a PDF, you need to be careful not to cut off text, page numbers, or images.
My usual way is simple: open the PDF, select the area I want to keep, check the preview, and then apply the crop.
One small tip: don't crop too close to the content. Leave a little space around the text. It can save you from accidentally cutting something important.
This can be useful for scanned notes, books, receipts, or PDFs with very large margins.
I ended up making a small browser-based tool for this:
Nothing complicated—just adjust the crop area and download the result.
