Awesome question!

Let me share my best experience:
During last summer - working on a green grass under a tree, near the woods, where the mountain starts. Every day if not raining - I have done a fairly complex project and the experience was awesome.

The only one bad thing were the insects :) sometimes :)

Livingroom couch. Usually with one or two pibbles acting like hip-barnacles.

Can't really code at work - at least not after about 0830 - because the connectivity is mind-bendingly slow.

Going to a coffee-shop type place would be too distracting: smells, noises, motion in site-lines, etc. Not to mention, many places, the seats aren't super comfortable over non-trivial time-periods. Having to take my computer with me just so it doesn't get jacked every time I have to go to the bathroom or refresh my water's a big "no thank you", too.
