Ethics and axiology: values as the foundation of community

This article offers an in-depth reflection on the role of values in building and maintaining a state community. The author argues that the foundations of lasting institutions lie not only in procedures, but above all in ethics and axiology. Drawing on the work of Józef Tischner and the concepts of Max Weber, the text analyzes the tension between the ethics of conviction and the ethics of responsibility. It highlights the devastating impact of systemic lies and cynicism, which lead to the degradation of public structures. The reader will also find a broad perspective on justice and dignity in various philosophical traditions. It is a call to rebuild trust and truth as the only solid foundations from which to build a stable state, resilient to institutional and moral crises.
