I’m posting this because I genuinely can’t tell if I’m being paranoid or if I walked straight into something bigger.
About a month ago I signed up with what looked like a legit online trading platform after seeing an ad about forex and crypto returns. Nothing crazy at first… small deposit, login details, trading dashboard, daily profit updates. It all looked professional enough that I didn’t question much.
Then last week I got a WhatsApp message from someone claiming to be “my senior broker.”
Profile photo looked corporate. Knew my first name. Knew how much I deposited. Even referenced trades showing inside my account, which is what really threw me off.
He said my account was “close to a higher liquidity bracket” and if I added one more payment, I’d unlock larger withdrawals and faster processing.
That’s when my stomach dropped.
Because up until that moment, every conversation had been through the platform… now suddenly I’m being pushed through WhatsApp?
I started searching things like broker contacted me on WhatsApp, trading platform asking for more deposit before withdrawal, fake broker WhatsApp investment scam, and way too many stories sounded almost identical.
So I stopped replying.
Instead, I did three things immediately:
Saved every chat, voice note, payment request, and wallet address.
Checked whether the company registration they showed me actually existed.
Had the wallet trail reviewed by Jim Recovery Team because I wanted to know if these deposits were going to a real brokerage flow… or just being consolidated with other victim funds.
What’s messing with my head is this:
If this person is fake… how did they know my account details in the first place?
Has anyone here had a “broker” move the conversation to WhatsApp right before asking for more money?
Was yours legit…
Or was that the moment you realized the whole trading account might have been part of the scam from day one?
