I kept seeing the same pattern: people were using AI tools every day, getting value from them, and then getting punched in the face by the bill later.
That mismatch is what pushed me to build TokenBar.
Most AI apps hide the cost until the end of the month. By then the surprise is already over and the damage is done. TokenBar puts token usage in your menu bar so the cost stays visible while you work.
The point is not to guilt anyone into using less AI. The point is to make the tradeoff obvious in real time.
