Intro

Hello, my name is Pat and I like to write code.

I plan on using this site to post things from here and there that I have learned over the years and as I go.

Why blog

I would like to share my thought processes, communication skills, expertise, and even some of my personality with anyone who may be interested in working with me or the community as a whole. If there are things I have to share that are helpful to others then we all win. I might even enjoy it.

Writing things out helps you understand the subject better.

I would also like to have a reference to be able go back to for some of the problems I had already figured out.

I don't currently have a rollout plan for what I'll blog about so it might be a bit random what subjects I cover.

Why blog on DEV

I see myself as more of a builder than an educator so this seems like the best platform for me to share what I know with not too much effort to publish.

It might be nice for me to build a blog on my personal site, but that seems like a premature optimization when I could be using that time to demonstrate my abilities on projects.
