I have always been an avid reader. I guess there is something about books that speak to me. The characters leap off the pages, and before I know it, I become so entrenched in the story that I forget that it’s a work of fiction.
Reading sparked my interest in writing. It started with this burning desire to replicate the works of the great authors – Hemmingway, Orwell, and Dickens, just to name a few. But reading has turned into so much more than that; it has opened my eyes to how valuable writing can be as a communication medium.
The truth is we, as a society, write a lot. We really do. Whether you are writing an email to your professors or colleagues or an essay you need to hand in before the deadline, writing is a part of our everyday lives; it’s a natural component of human interaction.
