I Built a Free Tool to Convert Bank Statement PDFs to Excel (No Signup Required)

The Problem

If you've ever worked in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping, you know the pain: your bank only gives you statements as PDFs, but you need the data in Excel or CSV to actually do anything with it.

Most existing tools either:

  • Charge per page or per conversion
  • Require you to create an account
  • Limit you to a handful of free conversions
  • Don't support the format your accounting software needs

What I Built

Bank Statement Engine β€” a free tool that converts PDF bank statements into Excel, CSV, JSON, QBO, OFX, or QIF instantly.

Key features:

  • No signup, no account, no email required
  • No page limits β€” convert statements of any length
  • Works with 10,000+ banks worldwide
  • Supports scanned/image-based PDFs via OCR
  • Handles password-protected PDFs
  • REST API available for developers

How It Works

  1. Upload your PDF bank statement
  2. The tool extracts dates, descriptions, debits, credits, and balances
  3. Download as Excel, CSV, JSON, QBO, OFX, or QIF

That's it. Files are processed securely and auto-deleted after 24 hours.

Try It

Would love feedback from anyone in fintech, accounting, or bookkeeping β€” what formats or banks should I prioritize next?
