Building Better Product Pages for AI Search and ChatGPT Shopping
How I Built an AI Commerce Visibility Tool for Shopify Merchants
Over the last year I've been watching a major shift in ecommerce.
Many shoppers no longer start with Google.
Instead, they're asking ChatGPT, AI search engines, and shopping assistants for product recommendations.
That raised a simple question:
Are Shopify product pages actually optimized for AI discovery?
The Problem
Most Shopify merchants focus on:
- Traditional SEO
- Page speed
- Conversion rate optimization
- Ads
But AI systems evaluate products differently.
They rely heavily on:
- Structured product data
- Product attributes
- FAQs
- Content completeness
- Entity clarity
- Product information quality
Many stores are missing these signals.
What I Noticed
While reviewing Shopify stores, I found recurring issues:
- Missing product attributes
- Weak product descriptions
- No FAQ sections
- Poor structured data
- Incomplete product information
These problems make it harder for AI systems to understand products correctly.
Building a Solution

To explore this problem, I built Prodync.
The goal wasn't to create another SEO tool.
Instead, I wanted a way to help merchants understand how well their products are prepared for AI-driven discovery.
The platform analyzes:
- Product content quality
- AI visibility signals
- Catalog readiness
- Structured data readiness
- Store-wide optimization opportunities
What I Learned
The biggest lesson is simple:
AI visibility is becoming its own discipline.
Traditional SEO still matters, but merchants increasingly need to think about how AI systems interpret their products.
Stores with clearer product information tend to be easier for both humans and AI systems to understand.
Final Thoughts
We're still in the early stages of AI commerce.
But I believe merchants who improve product clarity, structure, and completeness today will have an advantage as AI-assisted shopping continues to grow.
I'm curious:
How are you preparing your ecommerce store for AI search and AI shopping experiences?
