A Financial Times report reveals that Anthropic is expected to receive a high junk rating following its IPO, with Blackstone adjusting its outlook to a double B range after a recent 63 billion dollar deal.
Blackstone, which spoke to investors on a recent $63 billion deal, mentioned this change in its forecast. Previously, the investment firm believed Anthropic would secure a safe, low-risk investment grade before 2027. Now, the estimate shows a rating in the upper risk category.
What does the assessment mean for Anthropic?
This development currently remains an estimate and neither Anthropic nor Blackstone wanted to comment on the matter.
However, such a rating could make borrowing more difficult and expensive for Anthropic. The company has been making huge investments and purchases of computing power over the past twelve months, and officially filed documents for its IPO in late October 2026.
