Apple has scheduled a press briefing titled Pro and Tell for October 28 in Los Angeles, focusing on expected hardware refreshes across the Mac and iPad lines.
Rumored updates include OLED touchscreen MacBook Pros with thinner bezels and Dynamic Island cutouts, alongside an OLED iPad mini powered by the A20 Pro chip.
What's new about laptops?
According to the information circulating, Apple is preparing a laptop with a touchscreen and OLED technology, which will be a first for the company's products. This new model is expected in 14 and 16-inch sizes, with a thinner and lighter design, narrower bezels around the screen and a small hole for the camera instead of the familiar "dynamic island".
However, reports suggest that this model will not use the next-generation processors, but will be based on current chips. Instead, the more basic version of the 14-inch laptop is said to get the latest processor that was introduced in August. The company's desktops, which will likely get new color options, are also expected to add the new processor.
The changes in the new tablets
In the tablet category, the company's smallest device is expected to get an OLED display for the first time. Rumors suggest that it will also feature a more powerful processor, thinner bezels around the screen, a change in the position of the front camera, and water resistance.
