Apple's MacBook Neo bridges mobile and desktop silicon by integrating an iPhone A18 Pro processor and 8GB of unified memory into a 13-inch entry-level device.
Reviewing its hardware constraints, pricing changes, and anticipated 2027 successors reveals how mobile architecture scales into budget laptop tiers.
According to information published by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the new model will bring upgrades to the processor, memory and available colors. Specifically, the memory may reach 12 gigabytes, while the processor is expected to be a newer version based on the chip used in the company's phones.
The original model was released in March with a starting price of $599 for 256 gigabytes of storage, which was later increased to $699. At the same time, Apple also raised the price for students to $649 for the basic version, while the larger 512 gigabyte version now costs $749.
