Apple introduced Apple Upgrade in partnership with Klarna, replacing the legacy iPhone Upgrade Program with a multi-device leasing framework covering Macs, iPads, Watches, and iPhones under structured 24-to-36-month terms.
How the program works
The new system allows consumers to acquire iPhones, Apple Watches, MacBooks and iPads with monthly payments. The basic contract lengths are 24 months for iPhones and Apple Watches, and 36 months for MacBooks and iPads.
Rental prices start depending on the device:
- iPad: from $11,99 per month
- Apple Watch: from $11,99 per month
- iPhone: from $17,99 per month
- MacBook: from $24,99 per month
The program does not include device security, so protection must be purchased separately.
New models and prices
The program also covers the company's newest devices. The iPhone Duo officially launches on October 23, with retail prices ranging from $1.999 to $3.199. Its lease starts at $57,99 per month for 24 months or $82,99 per month for 12 months.

Conditions and restrictions
A financial background check is required to participate, and iPhones must be connected to specific US networks at registration, including AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon.
There are no interest or late fees. However, if a payment fails, the debt may be forwarded to a collection agency and affect the user's credit history.
