Apple has restricted global pre-orders for the iPhone Duo to two units per customer, introducing store-level warnings for higher quantities.
The purchase cap applies across all device configurations, while shipping estimates continue to face significant delays.
This restriction applies worldwide, including in the United States, Japan, Spain, and the United Kingdom. If someone tries to add more than two items to their cart, Apple's online store displays a warning message asking them to change the quantity. The measure applies regardless of the specific version of the phone.
It's unclear exactly when Apple put this limit in place. Some customers were able to order more than two devices when pre-orders opened on October 16. It's also unclear if and how the company is preventing those who want to resell the devices from using multiple accounts and credit cards.
The move comes after Apple said demand for the iPhone Duo was extremely high. Shortly after pre-orders began, shipping estimates were pushed back to 2027. On official Apple stores, current orders show a January 22nd shipping date, though some users have reported that theirs were delivered earlier.

Alternatively, those who contact other manufacturers or stores are seeing different dates. Best Buy is showing a pickup and shipping date of November 10 for the 512GB model, and December 14 for the 256GB version.
