Apple's iOS 27.2 update introduces expanded Siri AI capabilities, new context-aware Messages suggestions, and SynthID watermarking integration for Image Playground outputs.
The release also adds Apple Pencil support for the iPhone Duo, while Siri AI features remain in beta and unavailable in the EU.
The new capabilities of the digital assistant
On iPhone 15 Pro and later, the digital assistant can remember past conversations and use photos, calendar items, and audio messages to provide better answers. It can also draw on your browser history and reading list.
Users can now select specific text from responses and define in a list which apps are excluded from the feature. Available languages expand beyond English to now include French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.
The company clarifies that the feature remains in beta for devices with iOS 27 or later and is not available in the European Union due to local regulations, however Apple is working with authorities on the issue.
Changes to messages, photos, and apps
The update brings suggestions to conversations based on their content. In shared photo albums, users can now edit captions and comments, and expiration reminders are also displayed.

Images created by the company's artificial intelligence tools now acquire an invisible digital watermark, which can be recognized by Google's corresponding detection tools.
Other additions and installation
Other changes include:
- New black and white logo for the music app.
- Simple profiles for household members in the TV app.
- Support for third-party sign language interpreters in video calls.
- Split the podcast homepage into new shows and resume playback.
- Update in the friends tab for suggestions and recent games.
- USB-C stylus support on iPhone Duo, the company's first foldable phone.
The update also fixes bugs in health features, shortcuts, and app tracking. Installation is available to owners of iPhone 11 or later and iPhone SE 2nd generation or later, through the device's settings.
