Audacious 4.6.2 brings a host of interface and usability improvements to the modular open-source music player.
Key changes include full feature parity for Winamp theme support in the Qt interface, a new drag-and-drop theme installation method, and refined X11/XWayland display behavior.
Developers will also note the addition of the MPRIS OpenUri method and expanded keyboard accessibility for toolbar components.
In Qt mode, users can now install a Winamp theme by dragging its file onto the main Audacious window. The advanced theme option also appears in the settings. Thus, Qt mode now offers the same Winamp theme capabilities as GTK mode.
The update also improves the appearance of the program across all Linux workspaces. Across all platforms, users can now use Tab and arrow keys to select toolbar buttons, such as those for playback controls.
The ability to move to a specific point within SID audio files has also been added, as well as a feature that allows other applications to ask Audacious to open an address.

Audacious 4.6.2 was released on October 19, 2026. It is the first update to the program since June of that year.
