Bose has introduced its 2nd Gen QuietComfort Headphones, retailing for $359.
Built with a 230g form factor, the device supports Bluetooth 5.4 with multipoint connectivity and USB-C for power and wired audio.
It provides 24 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation, with a quick-charge feature delivering 2.5 hours of usage from a 15-minute charge.
Supported codecs include AAC and SBC.
The design emphasizes modularity with replaceable cushions and app-based configuration.
Design and comfort
The headphones retain Bose's lightweight construction. A practical addition to the new model is that their ear cushions can now be replaced, extending the life of the device.
Battery and connectivity
The battery offers up to 24 hours of operation with active noise cancellation. It takes 3 hours to charge them, while a short 15-minute charge gives you 2,5 hours of music. The headphones have a USB-C port, which is used for both charging and wired audio playback. They support Bluetooth 5.4, with the ability to connect to two devices simultaneously, while for audio transmission they are based on the AAC and SBC standards.
Noise cancellation and audio
Bose has incorporated the ActiveSense feature, which automatically reduces sudden loud noises from the environment. Through the accompanying app, the user has the ability to adjust the sound and manage the noise cancellation according to their preferences. Although the noise cancellation performance is very satisfactory for everyday needs, it does not reach the levels of top models of the competition, such as the Sony WH-1000XM6 or the AirPods Max 2.
