Cerebras Systems CEO Andrew Feldman shared his perspective on the AI landscape at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026.
He argued against alarmist narratives, calling for rational regulation instead.
Feldman also discussed the geographic challenges of data center infrastructure, suggesting that the industry should look to regions like Scandinavia and Latin America for future growth, and confirmed that hardware efficiency gains will not suppress the ongoing, global surge in demand for compute resources.
Data centers and local communities
Feldman said the U.S. data center industry has failed to properly engage with local communities. He cited Brazil, Canada, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Mexico and Sweden as positive examples of data center investment.
The demand for computing power
Feldman doesn't believe that efficiency improvements will reduce the overall need for computers that can do a lot of calculations.
Cerebras' clients include OpenAI, Block, Figma, GSK and Lovable.
