Paramount and Warner Bros.
Discovery have merged to form Skydance, accompanied by pricing updates for Discovery+ subscriptions.
The ad-supported tier increases to seven dollars monthly and the ad-free tier rises to twelve dollars, with thirty-day notices issued to existing subscribers.
The new prices are effective Tuesday for new members. Existing subscribers will be notified 30 days in advance of the change. For them, the new price will appear on their first bill on or after November 12. The previous Discovery+ price increase was in January 2025.
Skydance has said it plans to merge Paramount+ and HBO Max into one service. It has not been confirmed whether Discovery+ will be included. The report says other price increases and cost cuts are possible. Skydance is facing $80 billion in debt.
