Ford announced two new EV chargers for the Fathom pickup truck starting at $28,350.

The Home Power Station costs $650, and the Backup Power package is $2,100, though installation can reach $10,000.

Both options enable grid integration for virtual power plants.

The two new chargers cost about half the price of the company's existing products. The first device, the Home Power Station, costs around $650. The second option is the Home Backup Power package, which costs around $2.100 and includes the charger along with a home backup panel.

None of the prices include installation, which can run up to $10.000. The vehicle will be able to send more than 10 kilowatts of energy to the home.

Selling electricity back to the grid

Both chargers allow owners to participate in programs that connect home batteries to the grid. Users will be able to sell electricity back to the grid, with revenues reaching more than $1.000 per year.
