Meta has announced the acquisition of Conductor, an AI startup providing software development tools tailored for digital agencies.
With the deal, Conductor will sunset its cloud services on November 20, 2026, and proceed to wipe all user data.
While core features will persist until early 2027, this move highlights the integration of Conductor's third-party AI-based tooling—originally powered by models from OpenAI and Anthropic—into the Meta ecosystem.
The deal was announced on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, by Conductor CEO Charlie Holtz. The company was founded in 2024 and had only launched its core product in the summer of 2026.
What Conductor users need to know
The acquisition brings significant changes for those who use the company's services:
- Stop storage service: Conductor will shut down its online data storage service on November 20, 2026. After this date, user data stored there will be deleted.
- Software function: The core features of Conductor software will remain available until early 2027.
This move is part of Meta's strategy to strengthen its presence in the artificial intelligence sector, through investments and acquisitions of smaller companies in the industry.
