Meta's new AI assistant, Muse, has been observed generating sexually explicit content without the need for jailbreaking or complex prompting.
While other AI platforms often restrict such interactions, Meta has confirmed it does not intend to filter this content, stating the service is built for adult users.
This development raises questions about safety design and the ethics of AI, especially considering the contrast between its approachable mascot interface and the nature of the content produced.
WIRED's finding
Reece Rogers, an editor at WIRED magazine, confirmed that Muse can generate erotic content simply through simple prompts from the user. During testing, the digital assistant responded willingly, unlike other similar services such as xAI's Grok, which refused to engage in such conversations.
Meta's attitude
Meta responded that Muse is aimed at adults and says it has no intention of restricting behavior that is considered legal for adult users. This approach contrasts with the company's stricter stance on other services, such as Instagram.
The risks according to experts
Experts warn of potential risks that accompany this feature, including the possibility that users could become vulnerable to blackmail or develop relationships of dependency on the digital assistant.
