New version 1.1 of OpenRGB released to fix issues

OpenRGB 1.1 has been released as a maintenance update addressing settings persistence, headless SDK server plugin requests, and device indices in older SDK protocols.

The release also improves hotplug handling across multiple device controllers and command-line operations.

What does the new version fix?

Changes include a fix for an issue where the “Don’t show again” checkbox wasn’t saving properly. We also fixed issues that were causing problems for those using the app via the command line, affecting actions like resizing, loading profiles, and applying settings.

Furthermore, the application responded better to add-on requests when operating without a screen or graphical interface, while an issue with incorrect device numbers in older versions of the communication protocol was also resolved.

Device connection and requirements depending on the operating system

The handling of devices that are connected or disconnected during operation has been improved in several components so that the application does not stop responding.

For Linux users, the official installation packages now require an additional library available on Codeberg. On Windows, accessing backlit memory and older motherboards requires the use of a special tool and administrator privileges or running a service in the background.
