Open-source Microduck robots developed by Pollen Robotics captured developer interest after Jensen Huang demonstrated them at GTC Berlin.
Trained via simulation on Nvidia's tech stack, preorders topped 20,000 units by the following day.
Huge demand and pre-orders
Pre-orders for the Microducks surpassed 20.000 units the next day, according to Hugging Face's Clem Delangue. The robots are scheduled to be delivered to their buyers in time for Christmas.
Who is behind Microducks?
The robots are manufactured by Pollen Robotics, a company that came under the control of Hugging Face in 2025. Hugging Face was then acquired by Nvidia in September 2026.
Microducks are Hugging Face's second robot, after Reachy Mini. To learn their basic tricks, the robots were trained through digital simulations, using Nvidia's technology infrastructure.
