Shelly 3.1.9 is now available for Arch Linux systems, introducing file migration support in the RLPM backend via the new shelly_migrate PKGBUILD array.
This release enables automatic adoption of unowned files, fixes -git upgrade issues, improves conditional shell expression parsing, and updates build configurations for Zig 0.16.0.
File transfer and package management
The most important addition is file transfer support, which allows packages to take ownership of existing files without altering their contents or attributes. Package maintainers can declare transfer paths using a new option.
For Devario users, the new version automatically takes over the adoption of appropriate files that do not belong to a package. This feature is enabled by default and is controlled by a specific setting in the program's configuration file.
Bug fixes and improvements
The update resolves an issue that caused some packages to fail the first upgrade after changes. It also fixes the reading of certain conditions and preserves internet connection settings during local builds.

Technical changes include adjustments to settings for the Zig programming language in version 0.16.0, as well as updated translations into German, Russian, and Polish.
What to watch out for
Packages that leverage the new file transfer feature cannot be installed using older management methods, so users must first upgrade Shelly to version 3.1.9.
