Car rental platform Turo is integrating directly with Tesla's API to verify and display vehicle Full Self-Driving capabilities on its marketplace, offering eligible hosts a free one-month software trial.
Through this partnership, owners who rent their cars on the platform will be able to promote their cars with this feature, if available. At the same time, those who qualify will receive a free one-month trial, while Turo connects directly with Tesla's systems to automatically verify which cars have the software.
What drivers need to know
Customers renting such a vehicle will see warnings that make it clear that constant attention and readiness to take control at all times are required, while optional educational material will also be offered.
This move comes at a time of increased interest in this technology, with millions of customers worldwide having already chosen it and sales showing a significant increase.
