Apple entered the foldable market with the iPhone Duo, but early adopters are reporting hardware reliability issues including cracking screens, display malfunctions, and prominent creases after minimal use, prompting Apple to acknowledge inner display problems on initial units.
According to reports, buyers of the $2.000 phone are complaining about large, sharp dents right in the middle of the foldable screen. Some users even reported hearing a loud cracking sound before the damage appeared, while others experienced problems with the screen functioning.
Apple told Bloomberg that it is aware of an issue affecting the internal display on a small number of iPhone Duo devices.
The phone was unveiled at the Surprise and Shine event, where Apple introduced it as its first foldable phone. However, early complaints indicate that problems began to appear from the first days of use.
