Zabbix 8.0 LTS released with artificial intelligence capabilities

Zabbix 8.0 LTS introduces native OpenTelemetry monitoring, ClickHouse historical data backend integration, and a complex event processing engine.

The release also adds HashiCorp Vault AppRole authentication, expanded container and cloud monitoring templates, and an MCP server for AI agent integration.

New capabilities and technologies

The new version integrates native application performance monitoring, allowing for the collection and analysis of logs and metrics. At the same time, support for a new database as a storage space for historical data and metrics is added, offering up to a tenfold increase in performance.

A new processing mechanism takes on the task of correlating problems, identifying their source, and grouping issues into causes and symptoms.

Artificial intelligence and security

Artificial intelligence is integrated, allowing compatible systems to query monitoring information and manage maintenance tasks, with restrictions based on existing user rights. Access to programming tools is now disabled by default for user roles until explicitly enabled.
