The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Bulk Certificate Generation

Generating certificates one by one is a tedious, timeconsuming process. Whether you're running a workshop, hosting an online course, or organizing a massive corporate seminar, BulkCertify lets you design, generate, and email hundreds of certificates in under a minute.

In this friendly, stepbystep tutorial, we'll walk through the entire process of bulk certificate generation from designing your first template to handling delivery options and resolving common issues.

Step 1: Start Your Project

First, log in to your dashboard. In the top right corner, you'll see a prominent Create Bulk Certificates button. Click it to open your project workspace.

Step 3: Customize in the Visual WYSIWYG Editor

The realtime editor gives you full control over every aesthetic detail of your certificate:

Branding upload your organization's logo and official signature.
Color palette pick a primary and secondary color that complements your brand.
Typography choose fonts and adjust the scale for headings and descriptions.
Draganddrop adjustment reposition titles, recipient names, descriptions, logos, and signatures directly on the preview canvas.
Description body edit the description text, using dynamic variables like [Recipient Name] or [Event Name] to automatically personalize each certificate.

Once your design is ready, click Next in the top right to proceed.

Step 4: Add or Import Recipients

Now it's time to add who will receive these certificates. You have two options:

  1. Manual entry type recipient names and email addresses directly into the form. Best for small groups.
  2. CSV import (recommended) upload a CSV spreadsheet with name and email columns. The importer parses hundreds of recipients in milliseconds.". re

Step 5: Configure Export and Delivery

On the final step, set up how you want to receive and deliver your certificates:

Format PDF (best for printing) or PNG (best for social sharing).
Email delivery check "Send certificates via email to recipients" to have BulkCertify automatically email each certificate to its recipient.

🛠️ Troubleshooting Common Issues

Even with a simple process, technical hiccups can happen. Here's how to solve the most common ones.

1. Tab Crashing / Memory Errors (OOM)

Symptom: the browser tab crashes or freezes when generating a batch of over 100 certificates.

Cause: rendering dozens of highresolution images at once consumes a lot of RAM.

Solution: batches larger than 50 run on background queue processing in the browser keep the tab active while generating. If a crash happens, close other open tabs, reload, and try smaller subgroups, or switch to the Pro/Max plan, which uses optimized database caching.

2. CSV Import Errors

Symptom: "Failed to parse CSV file."

Cause: incorrect headers or file encoding.

Solution: make sure your CSV is UTF8 encoded and its first row contains exactly name and email columns (caseinsensitive), with no extra blank rows.

3. "You have no credits remaining"

Symptom: you can't start a new batch.

Cause: you've used up your free monthly credits (the free tier includes 20 credits/month).

Solution: wait for your monthly refresh, or upgrade to Pro or Max premium credits never expire.
