Recently I attended a ILUGC(Indian Linux Users Group Chennai) at IIT Madras.Honestly, most of the session felt advanced for my current level.Still, the experience was meaningful.
The meetup had three talks. The first talk was about Talos, a modern operating system for Kubernetes, covering concepts like immutable systems and infrastructure as code. Since I am still learning the basics, I could not fully understand it, but it showed how advanced real-world systems are.
The second talk focused on IRC and social computing, explaining how early chat systems helped build open-source and Linux communities. This session was easier to follow and gave insight into free software culture.
The final short talk discussed a real Linux booting issue and how it was fixed using Linux commands. This practical session was the most relatable for me as a beginner.
Although I did not understand everything, this meetup helped me realize how much more there is to learn. It motivated me to improve my fundamentals and continue exploring Linux and open-source technologies.
ILUGC meetup memories with my friends...
