I began the Cloud Resume Challenge with limited knowledge of HTML and no experience with AWS. Throughout the challenge, I not only expanded my understanding of AWS and HTML but also gained proficiency with GitHub. This journey allowed me to deepen my knowledge of cloud technologies and further my programming skills. One key takeaway from learning HTML was how to create bullet points and link references, such as connecting to my GitHub profile. Additionally, my background in UI game development proved helpful in making my website responsive to various screen sizes. I also learned how to adjust my website’s appearance based on user preferences, such as light or dark mode in their browser.

As I explored AWS, I acquired the skills to create a custom domain and utilize S3 buckets to host static websites. I also developed a strong understanding of AWS security systems and the best practices for implementing them. Initially unfamiliar with AWS, I faced the challenge of certifying my custom domain, which required completing the process through the us-east-2 region. Though this presented some obstacles, I successfully overcame them. While I had some knowledge of GitHub, I was unfamiliar with GitHub Actions. After seeking resources, I learned how to automate workflows with GitHub Actions, which is invaluable for ensuring the integrity of my code. Lastly, my experience with cloud technologies was transformative, as I had previously focused only on game development and had not worked with servers. Through this challenge, I gained an understanding of server operations and learned how to utilize makefiles to automate commands, improving my workflow efficiency. Overall, this challenge has significantly enhanced both my technical knowledge and passion for programming.
