This technical guide details how to mint csETH, the Liquid Restaking Token (LRT) of the Cascade Protocol Official. This process allows you to earn ETH staking rewards and EigenLayer rewards simultaneously while maintaining liquidity.
Step 1: Preparing Your LST
Ensure you have a supported Liquid Staking Token (LST), such as stETH or rETH, in your wallet. The protocol uses these assets as the base layer for restaking.
Step 2: Accessing the Cascade dApp
Navigate to the official Cascade platform. It's crucial to verify the URL to interact with the authentic Cascade Security Model.
Step 3: Depositing Your LST to Mint csETH
Connect your wallet to the dApp.
Select the "Restake" or "Mint" function.
Choose the LST you wish to deposit and specify the amount.
The protocol will show you the amount of csETH you will receive in return.
Approve the transaction to allow the smart contract to use your LST.
Confirm the final transaction to deposit your LST and mint csETH to your wallet.
Behind the scenes, your LSTs are delegated to a vetted set of node operators running Cascade EigenLayer AVS (Actively Validated Services). These operators are chosen based on the proprietary Cascade Operator Score, which minimizes slashing risk. This is the core of the Cascade Risk-Adjusted Restaking strategy.
For more details on the architecture, see the Full Official Documentation.
Step 4: Using csETH in DeFi
Your csETH token is now earning rewards and Cascade Points Program multipliers. You can use it in various DeFi protocols (csETH DeFi integration) for lending, borrowing, or providing liquidity, further compounding your participation rewards.
