Fastly and Sentry Self-Redirect Nearly Every Linked Page. Cypress and Playwright Redirect Nothing.

Latest round of the site-crawl series: ran the free RankForge crawler against four developer-tool sites — fastly.com, sentry.io, cypress.io, and playwright.dev — 10 pages each, starting from the homepage. Two of the four self-redirect nearly every tracked internal link; the other two log zero redirects at all.

What I ran

No account needed, so this is reproducible:

  • POST https://rankforge.cc/api/analyzer with {"seed_url": "..."}, then poll GET /api/analyzer/<id> until status is completed.
  • The crawler follows internal links breadth-first from the seed, caps at 10 pages for the anonymous tier, audits every internal redirect to its final destination (hop count included), and classifies every outbound external link as followed or nofollowed.
  • Raw JSON for all four runs: content/analyzer_20261002b_<host>.json.

fastly.com: 9 for 9, 60 links spent on pure self-loops

Every one of fastly.com's 9 tracked redirects is a single-hop 307 back to the exact same URL — /documentation/developers (10 inbound links), both /documentation/reference/compute/sdks/javascript and /sdks/go (8 inbound links each), and six more SDK-reference pages. 60 affected links total, 0 multi-hop, 0 real destination changes.

sentry.io: 9 self-loops, plus the homepage itself redirects away

9 of sentry.io's 10 tracked redirects are the same single-hop self-loop pattern (33 affected links, /about and a run of /about/press-releases/* pages among them). The 10th is different in kind: the homepage itself, sentry.io/ — the single most-linked URL in the crawl at 10 inbound links — 302-redirects to /welcome, a genuine destination change rather than a loop.

cypress.io, playwright.dev: zero redirects, zero nofollow

Neither testing-tool site logged a single redirect across its 10-page crawl. cypress.io (152 external links, 33 unique domains) and playwright.dev (94 external links, 17 unique domains) also both nofollow 0% of their outbound links — same flat-clean pattern as the frameworks-and-hosting sites checked in prior rounds.

Try it on your own site

Same checks (orphan pages, near-orphans, internal authority distribution, redirect-chain hops, external nofollow audit) run in one pass, no signup: rankforge.cc/audit.
