Teens in AI

Last year, I had taken part in a Teens in AI Techathon. I had taken part for Tunisia as the one in my area was full. Not only did our team get second place but, I also learned many valuable skills that I would not have learned otherwise.

So, this time I took part again once more but for NYC instead. And I must say, the experince was great.

We were all assigned teams to work in and were tasked with building a project centered around the SDG goal 3(Good health and well-being), 4(Quality Education), 5(Gender inequality) or 10(Reduced Inequalities).

My team, consisting of me and another participant, narrowed down our ideas to focus on gender inequality.

Throught the course we got to learn a lot about AI, AI ethics, design thinking, working as a team as well as presenting and pitching.

Together, over the course of two days we brainstormed and build our project, constantly editing and coming up with new aspects to develop on.

In the end, we won second place as well as an opening to take part in the global techathon.

It would be great if others are willing to give some constructive criticism our project and how we can improve it.
