The hotel price keeps moving after you book

Most travel tools stop paying attention the moment you pay. The price doesn't. A refundable room can get cheaper while free cancellation is still open, and checking it again by hand is the kind of chore nobody actually does.

That's the gap the booked-stay price watch in SearchSpot is built for.

What it watches. For eligible refundable stays, SearchSpot keeps repricing your booking while free cancellation is still available. It checks every four hours.

What counts as a better deal. The same room, or one judged equivalent or better, at least 5% below what you actually paid. Room type, occupancy, board and cancellation terms all matter. A cheaper but worse room is not a saving, so it doesn't count.

What happens next. You get an alert to review the offer and its terms. SearchSpot does not cancel or rebook anything for you. You decide whether the switch is worth it.

What it doesn't do. It doesn't cover every booking or every supplier, and it can't promise a drop will happen. Sometimes the price you booked is simply the price.

Why compare like for like. A "price drop" measured against the cheapest room on the page is how you end up trading a room with breakfast for one without it, or a flexible rate for a locked one (an illustrative example, not a real case). Comparing the same product against what you paid is the only comparison that's honest.

It's one small piece of what SearchSpot is trying to be: a planning partner that keeps paying attention to the trip after checkout, and puts you before commissions.

If you have a refundable stay coming up, that's the case I'd most like you to try it on.
