All tests run on an 8-year-old MacBook Air.
I've been building Mac utilities for Android developers for a while now. HiyokoClip is the one I use most in my own daily workflow.
What Is HiyokoClip?
HiyokoClip is a macOS menu bar app that keeps your clipboard synchronized between your Mac and any number of Android devices — instantly, locally, and without any cloud service.
Copy on your phone. Paste on your Mac. Copy on your Mac. Paste on your phone.
It sounds simple. The Android side turned out to be anything but.
The Features
Clipboard Sync (Android 10–16)
Android 10+ blocks background clipboard access by default. HiyokoClip works around this completely — including Android 16, which changed the relevant APIs again.
Supports up to 10 devices simultaneously with N-to-N sync:
- Copy on Phone A → instantly available on Phone B, Phone C, and Mac
- Copy on Mac → synced to all connected Android devices
Seamless Link
Plug in your Android via USB once. HiyokoClip automatically runs adb tcpip, grabs the IP, and switches to Wi-Fi — all in the background. Pull the cable out and everything keeps running wirelessly.
No manual adb connect. No IP hunting. Just plug in once and forget the cable.
Auto File Sync
Set a folder on your Mac and a folder on your Android. HiyokoClip keeps them in sync automatically — including .heic image conversion on the fly.
Fully Local
No internet required. No account. No clipboard data sent anywhere. Everything runs on your local network.
Who It's For
- Android developers who constantly move text between devices
- Anyone tired of emailing themselves links or screenshots
- People working with multiple Android test devices
