How to Add an AI Assistant to Your Telegram Group Chat (2026 Guide)

Every day, millions of Telegram groups run into the same problem: someone asks
a question, and the whole group stops to Google it. Or worse, three people
Google it and come back with three different answers.

What if the group had an AI that could answer immediately — and remember the
answer for later?

I built Agent One, a personal AI assistant that lives
inside Telegram. You can add it to any group chat, and everyone in the group
can talk to it. It remembers conversations, searches the web, sets reminders,
and even analyzes images and documents.

Here's how to set it up in under two minutes.

## What You'll Need

  • A Telegram account
  • A group chat where you're an admin
  • An Agent One account (free to sign up)

## Step 1: Create Your Assistant

Open Agent One on Telegram and tap Start. Choose
the free plan, pick a name and emoji, and you're live in about 30 seconds.

## Step 2: Add It to a Group

Open your Telegram group → Settings → Add Members → search for your assistant's
bot username → add it.

## Step 3: Start Chatting

Send a message in the group. The assistant responds to everyone, not just you.
Try asking it a question, or ask it about something from yesterday's
conversation — it remembers.

## Step 4: Customize

Use the Settings button (bottom left) to:

  • Toggle @mention mode so the bot only responds when mentioned
  • Change the personality per group
  • Set reminders that fire in the group

## What Makes This Different from Regular Chatbots

Persistent memory. Most AI bots treat every message as a fresh
conversation. Agent One remembers what your group discussed last week. Mention
a restaurant on Monday, ask about it on Friday, and it knows.

Works for everyone. It's not tied to one person's account. Everyone in the
group can talk to it, ask questions, and get help.

Voice, images, and documents. Send a voice message and it transcribes and
responds. Send a photo and it describes what it sees. Share a PDF and it reads
the content.

Multilingual. Say "remind me to drink water in 2 minutes" in English,
Danish, Spanish, German — it understands.

## Privacy

Each user's assistant runs in its own isolated container. Your conversations
are private, not shared with other users, and never used for AI training.

## Pricing

  • Free: 25 messages/day, 1 group
  • Personal ($10/mo): Unlimited messages, up to 5 groups

No credit card needed to start.

I'm a solo developer in Denmark building this. Would love feedback from the dev community. The landing page is at agent-one.org and there's a live chat demo on the page.
