I'm the lazy one in my group of friends. I'm also, somehow, the one who organises outings sometimes.
The usual way goes like this. Someone finds an event link or a flyer. It goes to three different group chats. Then come the questions: who's going, who's driving, where is everyone coming from. By the time we sort it out, the event has sold out or the vibe has left.
So during Hacktoberfest's "Slow and Steady" week, I built Come Through.

What it does
- Paste an event link, share a flyer picture, or type one sentence like a text. Gemma, an open model, reads it into a plan, and the app marks the bits it guessed so you can check them.
- The plan lands in your crew. You share one link to the group chat (WhatsApp first, because that's where we actually talk).
- Friends tap "I'm going" or "Maybe". No app, no account.
- People coming from nearby areas get grouped into ride pods with a leave-by time and the address to copy. In Lagos the buttons are Bolt and inDrive, since Uber left Nigeria in September.
- If nobody plans anything, a sloth picks a spot near the middle of the crew, checks the weather, and posts the plan for you. If it's going to rain all afternoon, it skips the week and says why.
- The day after a linkup, you can make a "We came through" card for your Status.
The demo shows the live app reading a real Eventbrite link (The Amala and Palmwine Festival 2.0, 13 Dec, The Stable Surulere) into a plan.
Why open
A group of friends shouldn't need a subscription to organise a Saturday. The model is open-weights, the code is MIT, and the app shows you which bits it guessed, so nothing gets taken on trust.
Try it
Built for my crew in Lagos. It works in other cities too; it just knows less about them.
