Day 58 / 100 Days of Code: Practicing with 14 Projects

Tue, Aug 27, 2024

Hello Everyone!

My foray into JavaScript has been a little smoother than anticipated as of late, thanks to:

  • Familiarity with C/C++: My background in computer science from the University of Washington and Washington State University
  • Supportive Work Environment: My leadership team allowing me to attend a weekly online engineering meeting showcasing various technologies, including many JavaScript-related like TypeScript and Tailwind
  • Mentorship: Having a code mentor who is a software developer has been crucial
  • Community Support: The developers I’ve worked with and known, including here on Dev, inspire me daily
  • Codecademy’s Full-Stack Engineer Code Camp: This program has been instrumental in my learning journey

Today, Codecademy's lesson plan included 14 mini projects. These are excellent practice, and I hope to see more like them. The lesson plan looks to be leading towards a number-guessing game, that I’m excited to start.

I feel incredibly grateful and energized to have this opportunity. The support from my mentors, colleagues, and the Codecademy community has been phenomenal. I’ll follow up with more details about the number-guessing project tomorrow.
