You can learn anything on YouTube. Brad Traversy recently did a video on 20+ developer YouTube channels to follow. As an avid consumer of programming videos, I thought it would be fun to build on Brad's list, found at the end of this blog.
I was surprised by the number of YouTubers on this list I already follow. But I also created a small list of people I follow that are not on Brad's list. These are also the channels I've been watching most over the past few weeks.
5 YouTube Channels Not On the List

Traversy Media
- Brad has a comprehensive list of videos covering seemingly every programming topic. No matter what I'm learning, there's a walkthrough, along with the source code.

Web Dev Simplified
- This is a smaller YouTube channel, but Kyle's videos are succinct and to the point. Most intro-to videos I come across are at least 30-60 minutes, with some reaching upwards of 3 hours (looking at you FreeCodeCamp). But Kyle's videos tend to be shorter than 30 minutes. That means a lot more info and a lot less fluff in each video.

Programming with Mosh
- Even better than the videos, Mosh also writes blogs to his personal site. His blogs are usually straightforward and easy to understand.

All Things JavaScript, LLC
- Another small YouTube channel that consistently puts out videos every Wednesday. Some of his videos use Java, but they're still worth watching as a non-Java developer. The format is presentations + code, which is helpful for understanding the theory, as well as seeing a concept in action. I've only watched a few videos on certain topics, but I'm already a fan!

CrashCourse Computer Science
- This isn't so much a channel as it is a playlist. Crash Course (the channel) produces educational videos about a variety of topics from history to literature and anatomy. But my favorite is their computer science playlist which discusses early computing.

I think he is working for a company and has a contract where he can not make online dev content. Sucks, because he was awesome
I'm surprised that in 2019, any tech company would prevent their employee from making content (free advertising!). But then again, that's why the Tech Lead got fired from Facebook :(
How can I trust this list when it doesn't include The Tech Lead?
Because it is not a programming/educational channel, it is a comedy/satire channel. I can not take a channel seriously with titles like "Why I am richer than you"
He's just a more sarcastic Stefan Mischook. Some people enjoy laughing and learning at the same time, and humor is subjective.
Case in point: "Uncle" Bob Martin's "Clean Code" video course is probably 50% made up of drawn-out skits mocking people who don't agree with him. I don't enjoy his teaching style or agree with all of his opinions, but he's a hero to millions of other people who do.
Yeah his recent shtick is him being a millionaire. But a few months ago he used to do more videos on more interesting topics like being a developer, breaking into the industry, etc. I hope he goes back to that soon

haha I considered adding the Tech Lead, but his more recent videos at least have been more personal than programming
Apparently he's in a scandal right now with another YouTuber where he's basically redirecting people from what they thought was the YouTuber's algorithm course website to his algorithm course website.

If you're interested in web development Mozilla has this great new channel where different web devs dive into interesting CSS properties, site layout techniques, and leveraging the power of Firefox's developer tools.
Also, Layout Land specifically for understanding CSS layout (Grid, etc.).
One channel I absolutely adore is Corey Schafer. He has some great Python tutorials and related frameworks explained really well.
I am also gonna borrow some channels from you, this list is great!
You're right- another great Youtuber! I'm actually subbed to his channel when I was learning Python. But more recently, I decided to focus on learning fullstack JavaScript, so I don't watch his videos as anymore

I’ll second Socratica and add Computerphile to that too - excellent computer science info.
I also subscribed to Computerphile, which I'm really enjoying. This list might need a part 2!
Yes - the problem is there are too many really good maths and computing channels on Youtube, some generalised, some more specific. It's good to have them listed all in one place, so a part 2 would be a good idea, I think.

TheNewBoston is #22 on Brad's list. He must be a great content creator to be on Brad's list, but I hadn't known of him before then
Fedrik christenson is also a great guy with his own experience and thought. The way he explains is a very good approach. I'm following @Brad Traversy since my college day

I can't believe Fireship is not on the list. His videos are very short as they are scripted which means I don't have to speed it up to 2X to watch.
I didn't know Fireship before, but I spent the weekend watching his networking videos. Will definitely add it to the list when Brad does a part 2
I watched an intro to Vue.js on DesignCourse last weekend and was surprised by the quality.
The number of quality content on YouTube is astounding
Awesome list, thanks for putting that together! I just launched a new channel code Code Fights where we bring in a few developers who code solutions to coding challenges within 15 minutes. There's no actual fighting involved - just lots of fun, and tons of interesting approaches (and great commentary)! 😍
