)
I recently completed a major milestone: my first full-stack application for the UK market. As a developer with a background building backend systems in India (Kartum Infotech) and currently finishing my BSc in Computer Science at the University of Westminster, I wanted to build something that solved a real business problem.
The Project: JDM Distributors
I built a custom inventory management system for JDM Distributors. The goal was to replace manual stock workflows with a data-driven automated system.
🛠️ The Stack
Backend: PHP Laravel (My go-to for scalable systems)
Frontend: JavaScript & Blade
Database: MySQL (Optimized for fast-selling reports)
✨ Key Features
Stock Management: Real-time tracking of remaining stock.
Purchasing Insights: A dashboard showing "fast-selling" lines to help the team prioritize orders.
Reporting: Management can now see a full sales overview in one click.
🧠 The Technical Challenge
The biggest hurdle was performance. I had to optimize MySQL queries to ensure that as the sales data grew, the purchasing team could still see their "fast-selling" lines instantly. I also prioritized a "USA-style" UI—clean, professional, and fully mobile-responsive.
Option 2: Medium Version (Professional & Business Focused)
Title: Transforming a UK Distribution Business: How custom software drove a 50% sales increase

Introduction
Software isn't just about code; it's about solving problems. After years of developing backend systems for SMEs and e-commerce platforms, I recently had the opportunity to launch my first major project in the UK market for JDM Distributors.
The Problem
JDM Distributors needed a way to manage stock more efficiently. The purchasing team was struggling to identify which products were moving fast enough, leading to missed sales opportunities.
The Solution
Using PHP Laravel and MySQL, I developed a bespoke inventory management system. I didn't just want it to be functional; I wanted a "USA-base look"—a professional, clean interface that felt high-end and was 100% responsive for mobile users.
The Result
The impact was immediate:
50% Sales Growth: Better stock visibility meant fewer out-of-stock scenarios for hot items.
Purchasing Efficiency: The team can now identify "fast-selling" lines instantly.
Operational Clarity: Real-time stock tracking reduced discrepancies across the warehouse.
Bridging Experience
Combining my technical background from my time in India with my current studies at the University of Westminster, this project allowed me to bridge the gap between technical engineering and UK business operations.
