Jacob Cavazos

Systems Operations with my favorite tools being Vagrant, Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible as well as bash scripting and my favorite text editor is Vim. More recently I learned full-stack Ruby on Rails development with a love for Material Design user interfaces. I am proficient with React and I am a member of the Gatsby organization on GitHub as a maintainer.

I am getting into both Golang and Python as well as the Elastic Stack. I just started working with Vue.js as I really enjoy front end work and Material Design but that is more of a personal hobby or creative outlet for me at this point.

I am spending the majority of my time gearing up to sit the exams for AWS Certified Developer and Kubernetes certifications. That leaves me sitting in front of the Amazon console deploying and orchestrating containerized infrastructure during most of my free time and tweaking my Vagrant box that features a Ruby on Rails development environment that contains automation tools and a new Rails app and Bootstrap 4 with Material Design CSS installed.

I believe in stewardship and I love sharing anything that I know as well as having a love for life long learning which I have found lend my life a solid sense of purpose and meaning. If you are interested in any of the skills I have or the tools that I am learning I would definitely enjoy discussing it and maybe if I am lucky we can both teach each other something new.
