On October 13, 2026, Shopify announced that Sidekick, its built-in assistant, can now help you customize your checkout and customer accounts. You get answers and guidance right where you work. No more hunting through the docs or waiting on support.
Sidekick in the Checkout and Accounts Editor
Sidekick is now available in the desktop editor for checkout and customer accounts. You can ask it to:
- Explain how to set up your checkout and customer account settings
- Suggest apps based on what you need
- Search the Shopify Help Center for you
So if you’re not sure where a setting lives or what an app can do, just ask.
Sidekick in the Checkout Blocks App
Sidekick also works inside the Checkout Blocks app. Here, it helps you understand and plan your blocks and functions. You can ask it to:
- Show you how to set up blocks for checkout, thank you, and order status pages
- Explain how payment, delivery, and validation functions work
- Review what’s already set up, and why
- Point you to the right settings so you can make changes yourself
